Giulia was born in a small village in the Veronese countryside, where, at the time, childbirth took place in a less sterile environment, under soft lighting. She was born on a sunny day, followed by a week of rain, on the summer solstice of 1985. § She has always harboured within herself various artificial media through which to articulate the expression of her many selves. It is not will, but the power of the feeling that passes through her, that determines the manner and form in which she speaks to what moves and what remains still around her. Thus, movement becomes expression through graphic marks, drawing, imagery, photography, video, dance and theatrical performance. Research, the flow of identity and forms of expression overlap, interpenetrate and complete one another. The exaltation of freedom dismantles all academic conventions within her, giving rise to roots that reach deep into tradition while managing to open passages into the distant and the unknown. The Sacred and the Profane immerse themselves in an emotional beyond. She is undoubtedly drawn to the dreamlike confusion that resists easy interpretation.
