The Art of Spotting

My name is Alessandro Pandolfi, though in aviation circles I am known as Pando_spotter.

I aim to capture the artistic and engineering aspects of aviation through local and global air traffic, using my shots to reveal the details and colors that catch my eye and hold my attention.

I was born in Rome, and since Rome's airports, Fiumicino, Ciampino, and Urbe, are close to me, I've always taken advantage of the opportunities they've offered me, whether it's special arrivals or the daily traffic at these airports. I've captured the subjects' surroundings as much as possible, while always striving to maintain high quality in my shots.

What drove me to this commitment, beyond passion, is the beauty that surrounds this environment, aviation, made up not only of magnificent, engineered, and aesthetically stunning vehicles, but also of the people behind them. My family is a photographer, so combining these two interests, which had already existed in the world for years, "Spotting" gave me space for what for me today is natural.
